I put up an xdcc bot (SPICE|DCC01) a few days ago. I probably should have made sure everyone was cool with it before doing it but I didn't. So I'm making sure now. Welcome to the news page, I'm filling in old shit, the first real post that happened here is the first one by KillBSBToday aka The Mexican. Ok, hi I'm Joz, and let me give you the background info on #SpiceChat!

Nobody owns #SpiceChat. I created it, but I created this channel with the idea of creating one channel that can unify the entire Spice Community. One channel that can be free and open for anybody to join, that can be linked to from any website. One place, with access points all over the world where Spice Fans can come together and chat. I had been a part of a previous wonderful community on #SpiceGirls of Undernet, which died after Geri left the group, and I always loved the idea of having one central channel like that where everobody can come together, without even having to use IRC, and without being split into tons of different channels on different IRC networks or different chat formats. #SpiceChat aims to complete this goal. So #SpiceChat does not belong to any website, or any person. It's open, run as a democracy, and policed by the channel operators.... /me thanks for the applause...

The initial Op-creation period was not based on much, basically if I was familiar with someone from other Spice Girls channels on IRC networks they got ops, as well as basically whoever used mIRC at the beginning and could probably be trusted, just so we had some control. Some of these people still remain on the oplist, just cause they aren't bad and it would asshole-like to remove them. Basically it was a free ride in for some people.
